Pop Vent Placement Instructions

The following is our recommendation for the proper placement of the PV14 and PV14B Pop Vent.

The Vent should be placed approx. 8" - 10" down from the peak.
On homes that require 2 Pop Vents, they should be placed approx. 1/4 of the total length in from each end. As an example, on an 80' home the vents would be placed approx. 20' in from each end.

On homes that require 3 Pop Vents, one vent should be in the center and the other 2 approx. 1/6 in from each end. As an example, on an 80' home 2 vents would be placed approx. 13' in from each end, and one would be in the center.

On homes that require 4 Pop Vents, 2 vents should be placed approx. 1/8 in from each end and 2 vents should be placed approx. 3/8 in from each end. As an example, on an 80' home 2 vents would be placed approx. 10' in from each end and 2 vents would be placed 30' in from each end.

One 14" Pop Vent is good for approx. 600sq. ft. of floor area considering that there is equal free air coming in from below. 50% exhaust from above, and 50% inlet from below. If you use a 60% / 40% ratio or another ratio, the number of vents needed may be different.
